What is in season in August?

As July turns into August and we get the start of the warmer weather, colourful vegetables start to make an appearance ready for the harvest time in September. You’ll find lots of different, succulent veg perfect for summer dinners, BBQs and salads and meat and fish idea for a light lunch.

First off we have to mention that August is when the sweetcorn season begins and who doesn’t love a corn on the cob on the BBQ?

For those of you who have access to greenhouses, you’ll also find that Nectarines, Melons and Peaches also start to come into season.

This time of year is perfect for BBQs, so it’s great that beef and lamb are both in season, you can also find more rabbit, venison and wood pigeons around, if you’re interested in getting some game for your summer meals.
