The Beacon

Situated within Lighthouse, Poole’s Centre for the Arts, The Beacon is a comfortable café/bistro with a focus on food and products from Dorset. The Beacon believes in supporting local businesses and uses locally farmed meat and produce wherever possible. Poole’s Lighthouse can be found in the heart of the town and welcomes thousands of visitors every year to a broad range of events.

The Beacon team aim to deliver a range of quality, cooked dishes which represent good value for a diverse group of customers. The Beacon is open to all customers, not just those visiting the Lighthouse and has a selection of competitive lunchtime meal offers and several, mouth-watering weekly specials. On days where there is a main performance in the theatre or the concert hall, the Beacon will be open two hours before the performance start time.

The menu changes with seasonal dishes, but you can expect a range of family favourites to be on offer at all times including light bites and heartier meals. Breakfast is served from 10.30 until 2 in the afternoon, light bites including soups, nachos, tortillas, salads and jacket potatoes are available all day as are main meals with everything from burgers, curry and favourites like scampi and chips. The menu also features vegan options and the staff are happy to make amendments for anyone with allergies.

Lighthouse is a unique multi-space venue with four auditoria, one of the only venues of its kind in the south west. You’ll find a mix of venues including a concert hall, theatre, cinema, art gallery and function rooms. As well as being committed to sourcing all the food served in The Beacon locally, Lighthouse is also committed to delivering a national and regional arts strategy.
