Dorset Handmade produces a selection of tasty jams and preserves which are available at farm shops and events across the county.
The company was founded by Julie who has been creating delicious hand made award winning marmalades, jams, chutneys, pickles, mustards, spiced fruits, cordials and elderflower champagne for years using the very best in home grown and foraged ingredients from the region.
Julie creates all of her incredible products using the traditional small batch, open pan method. Her range of jams, chutneys and marmalades are all made with home made pectin and no artificial additives. All the ingredients are locally sourced, foraged or grown by Julie from her base in Weymouth. The range includes seasonal products, including the popular elderflower champagne and a range of cordials which are available every summer, as well as products designed to raise money for local charities, like the Spitfire Mustard, which donates to Help for Heroes.
Julie works to create new twists on her traditional recipes, giving you a whole host of interesting flavours to enjoy every time. Unsurprisingly, Dorset Handmade is a multi award winning company with a range of products regularly being recognised by top award companies. For instance, her marmalades have won Gold, Silver and Bronze awards at the Dalemain World Marmalade Awards over the years.
For a chance to taste some of the best hand made jams and preserves in Dorset, keep your eyes peeled at farm shops, delis and small independent stores around the county or at events and festivals. Julie appears at farmers’ markets, festivals, food and drink events and other community events across Dorset and the south west. You can also find her at all events and fairs organised by Dorset Food and Drink. Not able to get to one of these events? You can contact Julie directly for her product range.
