Dorset Blue Vinny is a handmade, artisan blue cheese which is produced at Woodbridge Farm near Sturminster Newton in Dorset.
Dorset Blue Vinny could once be found in nearly every farmhouse in the county until the Second World War when production almost died out entirely. In the early 1980’s, Michael Davies, found a 300 year old recipe and decided to resurrect the disappearing cheese and breathe a new life into the Dorset Blue Vinny.
Today, almost 40 years later, we are the only producers of Dorset Blue Vinny cheese and still produce it to the same recipe with just a few modern twists. We carry the PGI (Protected Geographical Indication) status for the cheese and are the only producers.
We also produce a variety of seasonal soups and a small range of delicious, traditional chutneys which can be found in farm shops, deli’s, cafes and restaurants throughout the country.
